I’m Nick Wimp! Yes, quite the unfortunate last name, but I’ve come to embrace it as life has gone on. There’s no going back when you’re playing youth football with a piece of tape labeled “Wimp” on your helmet. I’m from Jackson, MO, and I am currently a Mizzou student studying communication.
My journey to radio began in junior high when I shadowed a play-by-play commentator for a Southeast Missouri State University football game. After that, I was invested. I continued to be involved with these broadcasts through all of High School and I eventually got connected in Columbia.
My roots are in football and I’m a huge fan of the Los Angeles Chargers (I know we’re a rare breed). Besides that, I’ll pick up the Cards and the Blues whenever the postseason comes around. I played tennis in high school and recently picked up pickleball as well. So if you’re ever looking to hit a round, feel free to reach out.
When it comes to music, I grew up on country music and gradually moved into pop and eventually mainstream rap. Music has slowly become my life, and I couldn’t be happier. I spend a lot of time either listening to music, or watching reviews, which has grown my knowledge of the industry which I believe plays a part in everyone’s life in one way, shape, or form. I can’t wait to experience one of the best generations of music alongside you every weekend on Y107!
