U-S-A! U-S-A! Do You Have Olympic Fever?

It took me a few days, but it is official I have Olympic fever!

I have to admit. Heading into this years Summer Olympics in Beijing, China I was not very excited. Sure I am always patriotic and very proud of all of the USA athletes and would cheer them on in the heat of the battle and the chase for the most medals etc. but then again I am more of a winter Olympic guy any way…I watched the opening ceremony and was amazed! How in the heck do they do that stuff! That was some of the most unreal timing I have ever scene!

Then the games began! I watched the mens sand volleyball duo lay a big fat egg and lose in 2 games DOH! Still no Olympic fever, just embarasment on that one. Then the men’s hoops guys took to the court and strugled early to Team China before the poured it on and blew out the host team, ok that was better but eeeeh? still no fever.

Then the men’s swimming and the 4×100-meter relay with Michael Phelps and the world record performance by Jason Lezak! WOW! Phelps pumps his fists and screams at the top of his lungs in celebration! Holy Cow! That was AWESOME! I am now jumping off my couch and pumping my fists in the air! U-S-A U-S-A I have a fever and there is nothing that can cure it…no, not cowbell it’s Olympic fever baby!

    I got a bad case of Olympic fever. Phelps is awesome and is my favorite to watch. Gymnastic is the other event but US have been kind of disappointing in that area. The Olympics dont seem as big and important as when I was a kid and watching them. GO USA!!!!

    I meant synchronized diving, not swimming. Didn’t even know they had the swimming as an event.

    I will watch the gymnastics…mostly becasue my wie and daughter are but they are cool!

    Funny with the cowbell. That always makes me laugh. The olympics, I like watching the swimming (syncronized especially) and gymnastics also. I haven’t really watched anything other then those two so far. I got bored with volleyball last night.

    I LOVE Micheal Phelps! He is great. Until I saw him swimming, I didnt really care about the olympics too much. Swimming and Gymnastics are really the only things that im interested in. Im curious to know if you like watching the gymnastics or not! thanks
