We are all guilty of taking pictures of what we eat and posting it online from time to time. Go ahead, take as much food porn as you want! Researchers at the University of Washington have found that posting photos of foods on Instagram helps you track your intake and reach weight loss goals.
The Researchers interviewed 16 people who consistently share pictures of what they eat online. In addition to their research, they found that posting pictures online is a fun easier way to track food consumption. Because taking photos is a lot easier than writing everything down, or typing it into an app.
Those who met their weight loss goals posted their food on Instagram. Also, by remaining on Instagram they maintained their goals and helped mentor and encourage others to eat healthily.
