Excuse Me While I Blog This Out.

I was in Warrenton, Missouri (on purpose) not so long ago and saw a sign that caught my eye.

The political season is over and in Warrenton Missouri and they have a new Sheriff, it is not Rich Black.  However it should be.  I don’t know Rich, his family, his experience or his stance on anything but he had one of the funniest political sign in the last 20 years.

For those of you who can’t see where this is going there is a little comedy known as Blazing SaddlesIt is #6 on AFI’s 100 funniest American films.  To help this story move along the old west town in Blazing Saddles gets a new sheriff…who is black.

Get it now?  Rich Black (who is white) had political signs that said Black Sheriff for Warrenton.  Intended or not it was hilarious.  If you don’t get it, or the title of this blog, rent Blazing Saddles and realize it’s ok to laugh at unintended hilarity.

See any funny political signs in the last few months?

Nope, not a funny sign at all. But what you are talking about is funny. The movie was funny too.

I wonder if Black won the sheriff in Warrenton.
