Chris Cornell, the lead singer of the groups Soundgarden and later Audioslave, was found dead in Detroit last night after the band played a show. He was 52.
Chris Cornell’s representative, Brian Bumbery said in a statement that the death was “sudden and unexpected” and that said the singer’s family would be “working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause.”
Soundgarden just played the Starlight Theater in Kansas City on Sunday night and was scheduled to play Pointfest in St. Louis this weekend. With this news, organizers decided to cancel Pointfest. Per Live Nation:
