Back-To-School Shopping!!!

  • Sharebar

For the first time as a parent I had the wonderful experience of going back-to-school shopping! How was your trip to the local Wal-Mart?

My daughter Emma will be off to the first day of Kindergarten in just a few days and just like you we took advantage of the Tax Free Holiday this weekend!  We got glue sticks and folders, there was scissors and rulers, well you know what there was!  I think I saw you there too!

Emma is 5 now and for the first time the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus phenomenon has hit the Cosmo house! We have HM folders and a small denim backpack plus I think a Hannah Montana raincoat!  I am aware of all of the red-hot pop-culture trends from talking about them on Y107, but now to witness the invasion in my own home it is a whole new world!

The madness was not as bad as I was expecting! There was a few cases where the last single subject notebook was grabbed away at the last second from a very ticked-off Mom!  I was very pleased with most of the adults behavior! They actually acted like adults!  If you ran into the opposite? I would love to hear all about it!

What was the worst story of your back-to-school shopping trip this weekend?

hey cosmo, when my familey went to Target for school supplies the people there said that in Jeff. they stiped the Tax Free holiday, so be lucky that they still have it in Columbia!

    Cosmo,
Feel blessed and happy that all Emma wanted is some Hannah Montana Stuff. My budding twelve year old almost thirteen wanted to buy tight t-shirts with v necks to show off her new growing body. LOL When Emma hits this stage write me and tell me how I’m not suppose to lock her in a closet till shes 25.
