Two words…”Soccer Practice“!
It is even more official now that I am officially a Father. Emma is signed up for indoor soccer at the MAC and on Saturday she had “Soccer Practice”! She has always followed me to the softball field and over to Columbia College for all of the sporting events that I am involved with there, so I was not suprised at all that she is a budding athlete.
We hit the store and scored the shin guards, the socks and the shoes. Now it is time to add the Thursday night practices and Saturday “games” to the list of Fatherly responsibilities.
I was quite the proud Pappa at that first practice and was snapping pics like the papparazi chasing Britney down Sunset Blvd. I have to admit that I got a little tear in my eye as I watched my little girl try and dribble that soccer ball and run all over that field.
As we drove home that afternoon I kept saying those two words over and over again to myself, “Soccer Practice” wow, my kid has “Soccer Practice” lol. I can’t even begin to imagine how many miles my Mom & Dad put on their old station wagon or mini-van hauling my brother and sister around to all of our practices, games and tournaments (and that was just soccer lol…there was t-ball, basketball, baseball too). Now it is my turn, but I can not wait!

LOL that is great…I promised that I would never force sports or any activities on my kids…she loves iot so far!

I realized my boy was not going to be a soccer player when he was standing there as the ball rolled away from him and I was telling him to run after it . He looked at it and calmly told me he didn’t see any reason as someone would kick it back in a few seconds anyway .
