Adele played a massive show last night in London and left fans with a big surprise. Hidden in their program was a handwritten letter from Adele. However, the news was not wanted they wanted to read.
It’s been speculated for a while that Adele might never tour again, that she wanted to spend more time with her son. Now this letter all but confirms it, as it starts with, “So this is it.”
It sucks, as we waited forever for this big return, and loved every moment of the tour. So this is almost unbearable news.
“I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live. And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.”
She does leave room for hope in the future, and that she might change her mind, but for now, it looks like we won’t be seeing much of her. At least we’ll still get new music. She told the crowd, “I will always write music and I will always put it out. And I hope that you’re always here.”
Here’s the question though: Even if she doesn’t tour, will she still be up to doing occasional random “one and done” concerts without a full tour? That would suit her better, AND give something to us fans. Adele, we ask you consider this.
